My Favorite Restaurant in Tulsa. Period.

Whenever my husband and I feel like having a truly wonderful dining experience, with no disappointments whatsoever, we always think of Garlic Rose. Garlic Rose is a part of Live to Eat LLC along with The Chalkboard in Downtown Tulsa.  It has two locations and since we’ve always been so extremely impressed by the Jenks location we eat there each and every time – and this time was no different.

On this cool October Eve we decided to start out with a bottle of delicious Guenoc wine ($28) and the enticing Baked Brie ($12.95) – my absolute favorite antipasta!  Danish Brie wrapped in a light puff pastry and drizzled with sweet black currant preserves.  It’s served with tasty grapes, strawberries, and perfectly toasted crostinis to dig right in to the melted Brie.

Next comes the house made bread served with their signature “garlic rose”, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  The bread is soft and freshly baked and the garlic cloves are cooked till tender and perfect for spreading over the bread and dipping into the oil mixture.  I love Garlic Rose for this alone.

For my main course I decided upon something extravagant – Seafood Bucatini ($26.95). Deliciously light lemon pepper bucatini tossed with garlic, shallots, Italian parsley, tomatoes, all tossed perfectly in a white wine sauce. On top of this amazing pasta sits a mound of fresh calamari, sweet scallops, plump shrimp and perfectly-cooked lobster.  The amount of fresh seafood was what was the most impressive – they pile it high and do not skimp.

My husband ordered what he always orders – The Long Island Breast of Duck ($25.95).  We both agree this is the best duck we have ever had.  Medallions of super succulent Duck Breast, pan-seared to perfection.  It’s topped with a green peppercorn demi-glace, served with lobster risotto and fresh vegetables. The lobster risotto is so fresh, flavorful and cooked perfectly every time – that is not an easy feat to accomplish!

For dessert we decided to try the chocolate bread pudding.  Our wonderful waiter, Jesse, suggested it and we’re so glad he did.  The bread pudding was thick, dense and a chocolate lover’s dream come true!

The ambience of Garlic Rose is perfect for date night or for a casual dinner for friends.

The only way I can accurately describe how much I love the Garlic Rose is, if I was dying and could request my final meal, I would want this one. Deliciousness served with perfection from the amazing culinary giants at Garlic Rose.
